A Mixed Bag of Burglaries, Theft, and Vandalism
The following arrest information was supplied by the Montclair Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Burglary
A burglary to a garage at a home on Hillside Avenue was reported on Oct. 22 at about 8:55 a.m. The owner said that sometime after 3 p.m. on Oct. 21, someone had entered his detached garage and stolen a bicycle. The bicycle is described as a men’s blue Cadillac, 21 speed, 21” frame with 20” wheels, and is valued at approximately $330. The garage and bicycle had been left unlocked prior to the theft. There are no suspects at this time.

Arrest
Police arrested Wilmark Pierre after police confirmed that he had a warrant issued by West Orange, with bail set at $215. Pierre, 29, of Orange, was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to inspect vehicle, fraudulent inspection sticker, failure to equip vehicle with safety glass, unregitered motor vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle, driving while suspended, obstruction of windshield for vision, and failure to produce documents. Police first stopped him on Oct. 21 after noticing that the windshield was cracked and that the car appeared to be displaying a fraudulent inspection sticker.
Vandalism
Police received a report of vandalism on Oct. 22 at about 10:45 a.m. Police were checking an address on Madison Avenue when they found an unsecured back door. Police also located graffiti on the chimney that read “The Crib.” The writing was done in red lettering and the address belonged to an abandoned property. The rear door had appeared to have been pried open. There are no suspects at this time.
Driving while Intoxicated
A 48-year-old Montclair resident was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Oct. 22 at about 8:10 p.m. in the area of Bloomfield Avenue and South Willow Street. She was arrested after police responded to a report of a car collision there. Upon arrival, police spoke to one of the drivers, later identified as Susan Durrwachter, and noticed the strong smell of alcohol on her breath. Durrwachter was arrested after she failed to adequately perform field sobriety tests. She was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated, careless driving, and failure to exhibit a driver’s license. She was later released.
Burglary
A burglary was reported at an apartment on Hartley Street on Oct. 23 at about 4:10 p.m. The resident said that sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on that date someone had entered his second-floor apartment, perhaps through an unlocked window. The resident report that an Xbox 360 video game console, valued at 4200, and an NCAA '12 video game, valued at A$60, were stolen from the apartment. There are no suspects at this time.

Theft from a Motor Vehicle
A theft from a car on Jerome Place in Upper Montclair was reported on Oct 24 at about 9:30 a.m. The owner told police that an Acura MDX had been entered sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 6:45 a.m. on Oct. 24. The car had been left unlocked in a driveway prior to the theft.
The owner reports that a blue and white Kodak video camera, valued at approximately $175, had been stolen from the car. There are no suspects at this time.
