Archie Comic Fans Can Get Autographed Comic Books

A local comic book writer and a local illustrator will sign copies of new Archie series.

Halloween is right around the corner and Archie Comic Book fans can celebrate with the newly-released collection of "Archie's Weird Mysteries."

Comic writer Paul Castiglia, a Bloomfield resident, along with illustrator Glenn Whitmore, will be signing autographs of the new mystery comic series on Friday, Oct. 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Comic Book Market at 28 Washington St., Bloomfield. Customers will be treated to free Halloween-themed cake.

The series features stories of beloved Archie comic book characters in spooky situations.

Castiglia, a Northern New Jersey native has been writing, editing and promoting comics for over 20 years for publishers as diverse as Archie, DC and Dark Horse.

In addition to Archie’s Weird Mysteries he is known as one of the architects behind the famed Archie’s Love Showdown storyline which grabbed international media attention in the mid 1990s. He also was the researcher-compiler of the Archie Americana Series, a 12-volume series of paperback collections presenting the best of Archie decade-by-decade.

Whitmore has illustrated both Archie and Superman comics.

From 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, Castiglia will be at , 78 Washington Street, Bloomfild. Free Archie Digest comics and information about The Comic Book Market will be handed out along with each autographed book sold.

On Friday, October 28 from 4 to 7 p.m., Castiglia and noted Archie and Superman artist-colorist Glenn Whitmore will be at The Comic Book Market, 28 Washington Street. Free slices of Halloween-themed cake and information about Anthony's will be handed out along with each autographed book sold.
