Best Christmas Movies Ever—Or Maybe Not?

Everyone has a favorite Christmas movie whether it's an old classic that makes them remember their childhood or a funny film that makes them laugh out loud.
Some people can't imagine going a year without seeing some version of A Christmas Carol while others consider Die Hard to be the best Christmas movie ever made.
Here are my top five favorite Christmas films. They are not for everyone. I'm sure that if you asked my husband or my three kids, they'd come up with five completely different movies.
1) It's A Wonderful Life. It may have been released in 1946, but this film inspires me every time I watch it. The scenes with the heartless Henry Potter (played by Lionel Barrymore) are my favorites.
2) Scrooge. My favorite film version of A Christmas Carol is the musical Scrooge starring Albert Finney (who received a 1970 Golden Globe award for best actor). And my favorite scene is when the cast sings "Thank You Very Much."
2) Holiday. I don't know what it is about this 2006 romantic comedy, but if it's on TV, I'll always watch it. Maybe it's the handsome Jude Law. Or maybe it's seeing Cameron Diaz run in the snow wearing heels. Whatever it is, I love this film.
4) Miracle on 34th Street. This 1947 film showcases the talents of a young Natalie Wood. I just love the court scene where even the judge can't dispute the postal service's legal recognition of Kris as Santa Claus.
5) Love Actually. Again, I must have a thing for British men. But I can't get enough of Hugh Grant in this 2003 romantic comedy. And of course who doesn't adore Bill Nighy?
Merry Christmas everyone and I hope you'll get to see at least one of your own holiday favorites this weekend.

A Christmas Story is a favorite with my family, especially my son when he was younger. My daughters and I always loved Overboard, even though it's not a Christmas movie per se - it's a great holiday flick anyway.
