Black Maria Film Festival Stops in Caldwell Saturday

Purchase tickets now for prestigious international film festival—they won't be available at the door!

 

The Black Maria Film & Video Festival comes to Caldwell Flowerland in Caldwell on Saturday, March 24, at 4:30 p.m.

This is the fourth year the Caldwell Merchants Association is sponsoring the local stop of the prestigious international film festival.

The Black Maria takes its name from Thomas Edison’s pioneering 1893 film studio. Each year since 1981, a panel of film scholars has selected about 45 short films submitted from around the world to showcase at the festival which travels around the United States.

Saturday's program will feature the screening of about a dozen award-winning documentary, animated and narrative films with commentary by a festival spokesperson.

General admission tickets are $12 and are being sold at the following locations:

The Coloring Room, 287 Bloomfield Ave., conveniently located near Caldwell Flowerland, will be offering child care during the 90-minute program for a nominal fee. Parents and grandparents can contact Valerie at 973-228-1124 for more information.
