Boonsong Thai Hits All The Right Notes

Check out this popular Bloomfield eatery that offers reasonable portions at reasonable prices.

Sometimes finding great Thai food can make you feel a bit like Goldilocks. The food can be too sweet, too spicy, too bland, or too salty—that is, before finding a place like Boonsong Thai Cusine that hits the mark with just the right mix.

Boonsong, on Broad Street in Bloomfield, offers reasonable portion sizes with the true flavors that longtime Thai fans love. The menu boasts all the usual suspects including a brightly flavored Pad Thai noodle dish, and a lush Panang Curry with coconut milk, as well as the less familiar Gang Pa or jungle curry.

An extensive vegetarian menu also offers tofu in a variety of ways—hard, soft and golden fried in curry dishes, noodle dishes, and black bean sauces. At this time of the year, Som Tom, the green papaya salad with lime juice and chili, can almost take the chill out of the air.

Crowded tables and happy faces fill the restaurant on weekend nights and lunch service is also available. The bamboo green interior is crisp and professional waitstaff are available seven days a week from lunch through dinner.

They also deliver, and happily include a copy of the menu for takeout and delivery. Parking on Broad Street near the restaurant has not been a problem, even with all the snow this year. Thai can sparkle with flavor if you find the right place and Boonsong should be high on your list.

Boonsong Thai Cuisine is at 1040 Broad Street in Bloomfield. Call 973-38-0507 or go to www.boonsongthaicusiune.com.
