Bradford School Runs—And Runs!

The school was awarded the Participation Award for the most students participating in the YMCA run on June 3.

 

On June 1, the Montclair Bradford Lightning Club sponsored the 3rd Annual Bradford School Runathon in support of Community Health and Fitness.

The entire school participated in the run and was able to raise over $2,500 for the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. The Lightning Club members also showed up in large numbers for the local YMCA 2-mile run on June 3, with over 50 runners lacing up to run either the 2-mile or 10K race.

For the 4th year in a row, Bradford School was awarded the Participation Award for the most students participating in the race amongst all the Montclair schools.

The Lightning Running Club is a before-school enrichment program offered to students in 2nd through 5th grades. This spring the school had over 100 students participating in the club.

The running club is under the leadership of Bradford’s Physical Education teacher, Mr. Maloney, along with parent volunteers Maggie Magaldi and Peggy Manning.

The school takes pride in its focus on health and wellness and aims to spread that commitment around the community.
