Day Trip: Hawk Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary

- Autumn Weekends (September-November) and National Holidays: $8 adults & seniors, $4 children 6-12
- Regular: $6 adults, $5 seniors, $3 children 6-12, Free for children 5 and younger

Summary: Hawk Mountain is a 2,600-acre wildlife sanctuary open year round with eight miles of trails for superb hiking in any season. It's one of the best places in North America to view the annual autumn hawk migration and was recently named one of the top 10 places to watch raptors by Audubon magazine. Hawk Mountain's website offers daily updates of wildlife sightings. The sanctuary includes a visitors center and bookshop, as well as a native plant garden.

I grew up in the Lehigh Valley and was a frequent visitor of Hawk Mountain, They have a beautiful visitors center where they do programs and crafts for kids even during the winter. If you plan to go more than once, it's worth it to buy a membership.
