Indie Bands Use Kickstarter to Convert Tour Van to Bio-Fuel

Gifts and Werebears have until the end of the day Friday on Kickstarter to raise the $5,000 needed to convert the van.

Montclair native Aidan Feliciano is a member of two Indie bands looking to make their shared tour van vegan.

Feliciano, 20, and his bandmates in Gifts and Werebears, are in the process of renovating a 1990 Diesel Ford Econo-Line van to take on tour this summer. Their ultimate goal is to convert the van to run off vegetable oil and bio fuel.

“That’s right, the same stuff we cook our French fries and dumplings and all that fun stuff in!” Feliciano explained. “By doing this we not only lower the cost of touring, we also become a model of our ideals. Being self-sufficient and carbon neutral are extremely important to us.”
