Lock Your Kitchen Door! Burglary On Lloyd Road

The following arrest information was provided by the Montclair Police Department and does not indicate a conviction.

 

Lock your kitchen door! There was another burglary, this one on Lloyd Road, and police believe the suspect got in through an unlocked door.

On Feb. 21 at about 10:10 p.m., a burglary was reported at a home on Lloyd Road. The caller told police that the suspect had entered the home while she was upstairs watching television on that date between 7:15 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. During this time, the victim heard an alarm in the house chime, but mistakenly assumed that it was a family member coming in the house.

At about 9:45 p.m., a family member returned and noticed that an Apple Mac Book Pro, valued at about $2,500, and a coin jar containing about $200, had been stolen from the kitchen. It is believed that the suspect got in through an unlocked kitchen door. There are no suspects at this time.

Vandalism

On Feb. 21 at about 10:35 a.m., police received a report of vandalism at Lacordaire Academy on Lorraine Avenue. Upon arrival, police spoke to an employee who reported that sometime between 4 p.m. on Feb. 16 and that morning, someone had broken two window panels on the northeast side of the school. The damage appeared to be caused by thrown rocks. There are no suspects at this time.

Arrest

On Feb. 21 at about 7:05 p.m., police stopped a Nissan Quest in the area of Melrose Place and Orange Road after a check revealed that the car was not registered. The operator, identified as Jores Guerrier, was arrested after police confirmed that he had a warrant issued by Glen Ridge, with bail set at $500. Guerrier, 52, of West Orange, was also issued a motor vehicle summons for driving an unregistered car.

Arrest

On Feb. 21 at about 11:25 p.m., police responded to the East Orange Police Department to take custody of Sasha Young. Young, 20, of Montclair, was arrested after police confirmed that he had warrants issued by Montclair, with bail totaling $1,359. He was also found to have warrants issued by Elizabeth, with bail set at $833, and Glen Ridge, with bail set at $189.
