Montclair Loses At Last Minute To North Bergen

Exciting finish to state championship game

This just in: In what was described as one of the most exciting finishes to a state championship game in recent memory, Montclair's football team just lost on the very last play to North Bergen.

Indeed, a 22-yard pass resulted in a win of 14-13, with Montclair coming up short.

After three quarters of play, Montclair was ahead of North Bergen 13-8 in the NJSIAA, North Jersey, Section 1, Group 4 championship game at MetLife Stadium.

I feel bad for the kids on the football team, they played great but the coaches stink! I was at the game and coaches were cursing and carrying on like children. No role models on that staff.

I have to ask, was this your first time ever watching a football game? Because that's what football coaches do. All ages, all levels. It's part and parcel of the game. Sorry.

montclairdad, no it’s not my first football game and that is not how it is supposed to be! This lose could have been used for a learning experience or a teachable moment but no, the Montclair coaches decided to act like whiny spoiled brats who can't handle loosing. It does not stop at the head coach and all the assistance coached, this is just another failed leadership example of our $150,000 Athletic Director. Time to change the culture in our sports department

The north Bergen team and coaching staff should feel ashamed of themselves when they cheered when khalif herbin went down. Such a poor showing of sportsmanship. I can't believe that none of the news writers decided to write about that as well.
