Montclair Math Students Score Well

Many area students participated in Saturday's TriMathlon

Mathnasium of Montclair participated in the National TriMathlon on Saturday, an event designed to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of math students as well as generate excitement about math education.

Indeed, National TriMathlon Day was celebrated at more than 200 Mathnasium Learning Centers across the country.

The TriMathlon is a math competition for 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students that is free and open to everyone. On Saturday, there were goodie bags for participants and medals and prizes for local winners.

The local 3rd grade participants were: Ella Parker, Bradford Elementary, (2nd Place); Vijay Ved, Watchung Elementary; Remington Katz, Northeast Elementary, (1st Place); Christopher de la Rosa, Bradford Elementary; Nathan Drogin, Essex Fells, (3rd Place); Jacob Poinson, Northeast Elementary; Isabella Hummel, Bradford Elementary; and Dermot Walsh, Bradford Elementary.

The local 4th grade participants were: Alan DiGeronimo, MKA; Randolph Castillo, St. Andrew in Clifton; Giulia de Gennaro, Edgemont Elementary, (3rd Place); Victoria de la Rosa, Bradford Elementary; Tristan Saidi, Bradford Elementary, (2nd  Place); James Macdonnell, MKA; and Alex Leaf, Ridgewood Avenue School in Glen Ridge, (1st Place).

The 5th grade participant was Abeni Mussa from Redwood School in West Orange.

Mathnasium is located at 147 Valley Road in Montclair.
