Although model Christy Turlington Burns may not want any gifts, flowers, or chocolates this Mother's Day, a few Montclair moms might.

(Burns is campaigning for a No Mothers Day Mother's Day as a way to draw attention to maternal mortality.)

If you still have no idea how to celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday, May 13, here are a few ideas:

—Do you want something flavorful? Brick Lane Curry House at 540 Valley Road is offering a special Mother's Day menu on Sunday, starting at noon. It includes lamb seekh kebab for $8 (minced lamb on skewers cooked in the tandoor); chicken kofta curry for $18 (spiced meatballs cooked in a mild onion tomato sauce); hyderabadi fish curry for $19 (delicious combination of coconut and tamarind flavored fish curry with cumin and fennel seeds); and coconut sorbet for $7; among other items.

—Do you want something last minute? If you wait until the last minute, you can make a mad dash to The Little Daisy Bake Shop at 626 Valley Road on Sunday and purchase breakfast in bed. Owner Jennifer Synder said there will be scones, muffins, pumpkin breads, lemon loaves, and so much more. The shop also will have special whoopie pies with pink filling priced at $1.50 for one or $7 for a box of four. Need a gift? Buy a Little Daisy Bake Shop gift certificate. The shop will be open Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

—Does mom like chocolates? The Chocolate Path has a few suggestions. How about Knipschildt Chocolatier's Sea Salt Caramels—a beautiful box filled with 16 caramels, coated in dark chocolate and then sprinkled with four different exotic salts—the perfect combination of sweet and savory? Or what about a lovely box of Classic Truffles—dark chocolate ganache rolled in cocoa powder—a wonderful gift? Go here for more information.

—You want something really special? Mother's Day in the Gardens is scheduled Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Presby Memorial Gardens, 474 Upper Mountain Ave., Montclair. Spend the day with your family at the Rainbow on the Hill! The day includes a special live musical performance. The Bloom Room gift shop will be open on this day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gardens are open from dawn until dusk throughout bloom season. The cost for Sunday's event is $25 per person. — You want your choice of lots of great food? Palazzo Restaurant at 11 South Fullerton Ave. in Montclair is offering a special Mother's Day brunch from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday featuring a hot and cold buffet that includes everything from eggs to lamb to smoked salmon. The cost is $32 per person. Contact the restaurant to make a reservation.
