Movie Review: How I Caught a Case of Bieber Fever

Part documentary/part concert, "Never Say Never" turned this third grader into a fan of the pop idol.

I went to see Justin Bieber’s new movie this week. I have to admit that I wasn’t a big fan of his before this movie. I thought he sounded like a girl and had weird hair. But after seeing this movie, now I love him.

Let me tell you about the movie and why I had a change of heart about this teen idol.

Justin was born in Toronto, Canada. He was raised by a single mom and his grandparents. For Christmas one year, Justin got a djembe, an African drum. He never had any lessons, but he played like he was born to do it. He also played the guitar, the piano, and could sing.

He decided to play in front of the Avon Theater in Toronto and a lot of people started to like his music. He also posted videos on YouTube that got millions of hits. His mom started to get phone calls – everyone wanted to know who Justin Bieber was!

The movie showed parts of his life when he became famous and parts from his first sold out show at Madison Square Garden.

My favorite part was hearing about the tradition they have at his shows where they pull a girl from the audience to be on stage for the song, “One Less Lonely Girl.” She sits on a stool and Justin gives her flowers and sings to her. Most of the girls were freaking out and crying by the time they left the show.

As you can see, I enjoyed watching this movie. I not only changed my mind about Justin Bieber, I also learned that you should never give up and never let anyone tell you that you can’t do something.

So, even if you don’t like Justin Bieber, this is one movie that will give you Bieber Fever!
