This week, resident Debra Simon talks about why her street, Edgemont Road, is the best block in Montclair.

In July, Patch started a segment titled "My Block." The goal is to find out why you believe your block is the best in Montclair. In our inaugural segment, we heard about Inwood Avenue. Then Midland Avenue. Then Summit Avenue. Then High Street. Then Trinity Place. Then Oakwood Avenue. Then Macopin Avenue. Then the neighborhood known as "Fieldstone."

But this week Simon claims that Edgemont Road is the best block in Montclair. And, after nine years and three houses in Montclair, she should know.

Simon has an eighth grader at Mount Hebron Middle School and twin fourth grade boys at Charles H. Bullock Elementary School.

"My children can enjoy real independence where we live," said Simon, whose home is on the street between Watchung Avenue and Edgemont Park. "I love the close proximity to Watchung and Upper Montclair."
