Police Blotter: Drunk Driving and Stolen TVs

The following arrest information was submitted by the Montclair Police Department and does not represent a conviction

 

Montclair Police handled a pair of DWI arrests, a warrant arrest, and also a burglary in the last few days.

Residential Burglary

On May 3, at about 4:47 p.m., a burglary was reported at a Washington Street address. Upon arrival, police officers met with the resident, who reported arriving home at 4:30 p.m., only to find that the home had been burglarized. The resident said that two flat screen TVs had been taken. This investigation is ongoing. Anyone in the Washington Street area with any information should call Det. J. Anderson at 973-509-4706.

DWI Arrest

On May 3, at about 5:34 p.m., police received a report of a car accident on Park Street. Upon arrival, officers saw a gold colored Ford Explorer resting on the grass and sidewalk in front of a house. Outside the car was the driver, Jeffery T. Baker, a 34-year-old Verona man. Officers conducted an investigation and, ultimately, arrested Bakers for DWI. Baker also was found to have prescription drugs on him, for which he had no prescription. Therefore, he was also charged with illegal possession of prescription legend drugs without a prescription.

DWI Arrest

Another DWI arrest came on Sunday, May 6, at about 1:12 a.m. Police responded to the area of South Mountain Avenue after getting a report from a concerned citizen of an erratic driver. The caller said that the car in question was a four-door car and also provided the plate and direction of travel. Officers were able to locate the car in the area of Eagle Rock Way and Llewellyn Road. Officers stopped the car and, after further investigation, officers arrested thd driver, Meghan M. Horan, a 39-year-old Glen Ridge woman, for DWI and related offenses.

Warrant Arrest

On Saturday, May 5, at 7:18 p.m., police assigned to a plain clothes detail were patrolling the area of Pine Street and Glenridge Avenues when they saw a person they recognized as Frank Bagley, a 44-year-old Montclair man, who was known by the officers to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant resulted from a previous drug arrest in November of 2011 to which Bagley failed to appear in Montclair Municipal Court. Officers arrested Bagley and he was found to have additional warrants out of both East Orange and Newark.
