Three Restaurants Opening In Montclair!

And a new clothing store as well!

Everyone knows that the restaurant scene in Montclair is as unpredictable as a toddler on ice skates.

But what can be predicted with some certainty today is that at least three new restaurants—all very different—will be opening in Montclair within the next few weeks.

First on the list is Kei Kabob at 401 Bloomfield Avenue, a Persian restaurant that will specialize in kebabs.

"Items will be low fat and healthy," said owner Ashkan Khalaj, who worked in the restaurant business in Iran.

Kei Kabob, which hopes to open by Friday, March 23, is located next to Spice II, a Thai restaurant, which is located next to Satish Palace, an Indian restaurant.

This ethnic enclave is right across the street from Acappello, a relatively new Italian restaurant.

Kei Kabob will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

Next on the horizon is Le Salbuen, a "cafe market" that's opening this spring at 97 Walnut Street, just down from Ray's Luncheonette.

Le Salbuen plans to serve not only meat and vegan dishes, but also artisian protein shakes, fresh organic juices, and local organic market goods.

Finally, Muscle Maker Grill is definitely moving into the former Mexicali Rose space at 10 Park Street near Bloomfield Avenue, hopefully by May 1.

Founded in 1995 by Rod Silva, Muscle Maker Grill eateries offer "freshly prepared Italian and Tex-Mex wraps, pastas, Asian entrees, salads, burgers and more," according to its website.

And if all that restaurant news weren't enough for one day, a men and women's clothing store called South Moon Under plans to open by May 9 on South Park Street right by Urban Outfitters.

Muscle Maker Grill is the stupidest name of a restaurant I have heard in my 51+ years. Expect to see that annoying guy from the gym who wants to tell you every time you see him about his great workout ("Wednesday is upper back and legs....") and how wonderful his diet is. Zero fat, X number of grams of protein, etc. He lives by himself and has no friends but man is he a health nut. And now he eats at the Muscle Maker Grill every night.

Great lead, Shelley. Over at Muscle Maker Grill, I envision pitchman/boxer George Foreman pressing paninis.

I've eaten at a Muscle Maker Grill in central Jersey. Food was fresh and tasty. Staff was friendly. Looking forward to this new addition.

Muscle Maker Grill is totally just a name and it is family oriented!!! Tons of healthy food and salads..... Steve after 51 years maybe you should start trying new things and visit the other locations around. There is a reason this is the fastest growing franchise concept in the USA right now if it was as you described! There is a Reason why it is so successful and many Women and Men can confirm that. Check out the website www.musclemakergrill.com
