Hi, we are Hazel Togman and Chiara Carasi-Schwartz.  We just finished third grade at Edgemont Montesorri School. We would like to tell you about the new trend at our school - it’s Duck Tape!!  Our group made up of Nadia, Kate and the both of us make bracelets, rings, wallets, purses, flip flops, ties, glasses cases, barrettes, cell phone holders, ties, bows, and flower pens. You can decorate almost anything with duck tape - it’s strong, waterproof and has even been used to repair the Apollo 13 space shuttle. We have even heard about someone who made a prom dress using only duck tape and …
Hi, I’m Maria Linietsky and I’m in 2nd grade at Edgemont School. Right now, I’m about to be in the school play, A Spoon Full of Sugar based on Mary Poppins. My brother Ben is in it too, along with about 60 other kids. There are two casts of the show, with about 30 kids each. I’ve been going to rehearsals for a few months. The director is Mrs. Horton. The best part of being in the play is you get to do something important and exciting. The …

I knew from being at her house that Suzanne knew how to take control and get everyone to listen to her. Working on the yearbook was a very exciting and enjoyable experience. I was in charge of the student and staff …
Society is like a herd of sheep following a shepherd. The shepherd is typically a celebrity, and the sheep are the people. We follow what celebrities do like robots. Unconvinced? Look up for a moment, and watch as the teenage boy next to you quickly flicks his hair to the side, making every strand of hair perfectly aligned. Who was the shepherd that led the hair-flicking sheep? Justin Bieber, the shepherd puppy and pop star who one day flicked his hair out his face, but instead ended creating the most popular trend amongst all teenage boys. Before Bieber’s era, however, the 60s generation was…
As the minutes tick by from 10 to 11 p.m., there seems to be only one place to be, Facebook. And whether it’s checking status updates, reading news feeds, or posting that one last sarcastic comment on your friend’s wall, time is not of the essence. Let’s face it, most have probably been here, staying up late until they get the indulgence of seeing that one “notification,” and while I personally don’t use Facebook, there are, no doubt, many who find themselves glued to the screen, craving a social connection. In the “Facebook” era of social networking, communication and constant output is a …
