 gn is a vast field that ranges from conceptualizing and creating very sm
 all objects\, such as tools and utensils\, to the very large\, such as b
 uilding architecture and city planning. What then\, is the common thread
  to design? There is a complex yet simple answer\; &ldquo\;thought.&rdqu
 o\; Thoughtful design is both analytical and creative. It allows the per
 son or team to take problems\, analyze\, and solve them. In this course\
 , students will design and build a personalized\nspace for learning and
 thought. Students will begin with observation\, research\, and group dis
 cussion while sketching and creating 3D models to conceptualize their id
 eas. The class will then assemble life-sized spaces utilizing Fed Ex shi
 pping boxes as a building material. The project culminates with a formal
  presentation of their pieces to a panel of professional architects and
 a public exhibition of the work in the Museum&rsquo\;s galleries. &nbsp\
 ;The Room For Thought course was created by architect Barry Yanku and wa
 s initially piloted at the Montclair Art Museum in 2003. This college le
 vel curriculum has since been offered at Yale University and New Jersey
 Institute of Technology. Barry Yanku continues to serve as curriculum an
 d architectural consultant for the course.&nbsp\;
