 rday\, July 7\, 10 a.m. &ndash\; 4 p.m.\n$90 Members\, $110 Nonmembers\n
Instructor: Pat Butynski\n&nbsp\;\nDo you love color? Is the common thre
ad in all your work an expression of color? Spend a day exploring painti
ngs about color! Mark Rothko\, probably the best-known &ldquo\;color fie
ld&rdquo\; painter\, did just that. His work\, with its layers of rich c
olor subtly selected and placed\, created a sense of depth and space and
dynamic tension. In this one-day acrylic workshop\, we will briefly exp
lore color contrasts and create three to five different color stories. T
hrough lecture\, demonstration\, and critique\, the instructor will equi
p you with the information needed to sow and grow your own color field p
aintings\, producing a crop of three finished pieces. For a list of sugg
 ested supplies\, please visit montclairartmuseum.org.
