  The V-Day Campaign is a global activist movement to end violence agains
 t women and girls inspired by Eve Ensler's play\, "The Vagina Monologues
 ". The movement was started&nbsp\;in 1998 by author\, playwright and act
 ivist Eve Ensler. V-Day was incorporated with the intent of using perfor
 mances of "The Vagina Monologues" to raise money to benefit female victi
