Common Core Workshop, First Ward Community Meeting

What's happening in Montclair on Thursday.

Patch has put together some things you need to know for Thursday. 

First Ward Councilor William Hurlock will host a community meeting on Thursday, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Bellevue Avenue Branch of the Montclair Public Library, 185 Bellevue Ave.

There will be a Diabetes Wellness Expo at the Verona Community Center, 880 Bloomfield Ave., on Thursday, from 9 to 11:30 a.m., featuring information and screenings to manage and prevent diabetes. Low-glycemic snacks will be available from Shop-Rite. 

The Montclair Kimberley Academy's Parent Association's Winter Shopping Boutique continues at The Manor on Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Montclair Mounties football team is top seed in the state tournament. The defending champs will face 8th-seeded North Bergen at home in round one on Saturday.

The PAWS Annual Holiday Bazaar will take place Saturday, starting at 10 a.m., at the Commonwealth Club in Upper Montclair 26 Northview Ave., Upper Montclair.
