Ceramics for Adults, Teens and Kids at Mud & Soul Clay Studio

"Art has the role in education of helping children become like themselves instead of more like everyone else."

Adult classes and weekly summer camps run through August 15. Find out how satisfying it is to work with clay. See below for some camp theme descriptions.

Core Clay is a 2-week program (July 7-18) that offers 10 year olds and up a chance to spend some real time with clay, which is a great opportunity to not only hone various techniques, but to learn to speak with their hands.

—Only a few spots left. Anyone interested in joining, must call the studio by Saturday.

Monsters, Mythical to Modern (July 14-18) or Robots V Aliens (July 28-Aug. 1): Making monsters, robots and/or aliens is just a fun thing to do. Campers will be so busy bringing their creations to life, they won’t realize all the techniques they are learning.

How Do You Accessorize? (July 21-25) It’s about making pots with style. Campers will use clay to design shoes and handbags, or pants!

Alaska Bound (July 21-25): It’s a culture and landscape worthy of exploring in person, but also in clay. It’s about sculpting animals, telling a story through totem pole building, possibly creating a dream catcher or a mask.

Other camp themes include: About the Yard/Earthy Creations (July 28-Aug. 1), A Thrown and Altered Piece, Aug. 4-8), Sculpting Stories (Aug 4-8), Portraits in Clay (Aug. 11-15), and Your Home is Your Castle (Aug. 11-15)
