Free GED Test Prep Classes Begin February 3 in Elizabeth and Roselle

Literacy Volunteers of Union County is once again offering free GED Test Prep Classes in Elizabeth and Roselle beginning Monday, February 3, 2014.   The 15- week course is designed to help individuals prepare to take the high school equivalency exam and earn a GED Certificate.

The Elizabeth classes will meet Mondays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to noon at the Elizabeth Public Library, 11 South Broad Street, Elizabeth. 

The Roselle classes will meet Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Roselle Fire Department, 725 Chestnut Street in Roselle.

Advance registration and an assessment are required for both classes.  The assessment will be given on Monday, January 27.  For more information or to register, contact Dawn Harrison at Literacy Volunteers of Union County, 908-486-1777.

Literacy Volunteers of Union County is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of adults in our county by teaching them to read, write and speak English so they can participate more fully in family, workplace and community life.  The 26 year-old non-profit organization recruits, trains, supervises and supports more than 200 volunteer tutors who work one-to-one or in groups with adult students focused on enhancing their basic literacy, life skills and English as a Second Language.  Literacy tutors also help prepare students for the GED and Citizenship tests.
