The Arc of Essex County seeks to highlight Achievement with its first photo contest

LIVINGSTON, NJ – The Arc of Essex County is holding its first photo contest, seeking the best shots that depict the achievements of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Arc, the area’s largest provider of services and supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) including Autism and Down syndrome, will select ten photos from those submitted for a semi-final round. Fans of The Arc’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/thearcofessexcounty, will vote for the winners. The top five vote getting photos will be displayed on The Arc of Essex County’s new website, www.arcessex.org when launched later this spring.

“People with I/DD achieve everyday and more and more of these amazing events are captured in photos. The Arc of Essex County wants to share and celebrate these milestones to help raise awareness and celebrate important victories,” said The Arc’s Chief Executive Officer Linda Lucas. Submissions can be made from The Arc’s Facebook page and its current website. The contest is open to anyone 18 years of age and older and entrants must have permission for use of the photo submitted. Full contest rules can be found at www.arcessex.org/photocontest.
