Montclair Art Museum's Yard School of Art Acquires Etching Press, 3D Printer

Registration under way for winter classes.

Registration is under way for classes, workshops, and short courses at the Montclair Art Museum's Yard School of Art. Winter classes for kids, adults, and teens start on Jan. 13.

The Montclair Art Museum recently acquired a Charles Brand etching press, expanding classes in printmaking.

The Yard School will offer Introduction to Printmaking for starters, as well as intermediate-level courses, such as Explorations in Printmaking: Plate,
Ink and Paper and a Printmaking Intensive class for more advanced students.

New printmaking one-day workshops were also added, including Artist Books, Paper Lithography, Expressive Monoprints, Inspired by the Model, and Drypoint Print as Drawing.

Children also have opportunities to create and learn at the Yard School this winter. Find a class for every child’s interest: for our young Charles Darwins, there is In the Scientist’s Studio, and Coco Chanels will enjoy Fashion Illustration.

Digital media courses for kids and teens include Beats, Grooves, and Movie Scores; Graphic Art and Web Design; Digital Filmmaking; and Video Game
Design.

The Yard School of Art was also given a 3D Printer from the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards program and will offer an eight-week teen (15+) class in 3D Printer Sculpture this winter.
