'Montclair Celebrates' Raises a Glass for the 4th of July

Excited for the 4th of July? Well, the celebration's starting early!

“Montclair Celebrates,” the 4th of July parade and picnic planning committee, will host a fundraiser event on June 17 at Egan and Sons.

Members of the “Montclair Celebrates” committee will act as bartenders for the evening and starting at 5 p.m. all bartender tips will go to the committee.

Egan and Sons will also be donating 10 percent of their dinner proceeds for the evening to toward “Montclair Celebrates,” to help support the Independence Day festivities scheduled for this year.

“Keep in mind that for this evening, standard rules for tipping are strongly discouraged,” said John Lee, an advocate for the “Montclair Celebrates” team. “Should patrons feel the desire to tip $20, $30, or even $50 for one drink give in to your desires and tip away!”

The event is scheduled to end at 10 p.m. and Egan and Sons is located at 118 Walnut St.
