The Montclair Cooperative School will kick off its 50th anniversary celebration this weekend with the second annual Bookapalooza!
The Bookworm Café will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Friday and
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, with home-baked goods and a selection of books handpicked
by Watchung Booksellers.
Friday night, adults are invited back for wine, live music and a book signing by guest author Christina Baker Kline, who will read from and discuss her New York Times Best Seller, Orphan Train.
The celebration continues Saturday with a festival, including more books, outdoor games, local artists, food vendors and live music from 1963, the year the school was founded. The school’s founder and longtime director, Lauretta Freeman, will be honored during a special ceremony.
