Montclair Woman Aims to Finish Boston Marathon Year After Bombing

Mona Jha was just over a tenth of a mile from the finish line when the unthinkable happened.

A Montclair woman is hoping to finish the Boston Marathon this year after bombings last year stopped her less than a half-mile from the finish line.

Runner Mona Jha was somewhere around mile 26 during the 26.2 mile race when she saw the first explosion “like a big ball of fire,” she told WCBS.

She kept running until the second bomb went off. Jha then “wandered around” in a daze for some two hours before reuniting with her family, according to the website.
