Shomrei Emunah Announces High Holidays Services

Montclair synagogue marks Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

Congregation Shomrei Emunah of Montclair will observe Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, beginning with services at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4.  
On the first day, Thursday, Sept. 5, Shaharit is at 8:45 a.m., followed by Junior Congregation for youngsters 6-12 years old, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tot Yom Tov and Teen Discussion are scheduled from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Tashlikh will be at Edgemont Park at 5 p.m, followed by an Open House/Minhah and Maariv services at 6 p.m.at a private home in Montclair.

On Friday, Sept. 6, the second day of Rosh Hashanah, the schedule is the same in the morning. Minhah and Maariv are at 6:30 p.m. at the synagogue.

Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, begins with Minhaha on Friday, Sept. 13, at 6:30 p.m.; Kol Nidre is at 6:50 p.m.

On Saturday, Sept. 14, Shaharit will be at 8:45 a.m. Junior Congregation for youngsters 6-12 years old, will take place from10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tot Yom Tov and Teen Discussion will be held from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Yiskor is at 11:30 a.m. Minhah is at 5:15 p.m., Neilah at 6:35 p.m. Maariiiiv is at 7:30 p.m.; the Final Shofar Blast is at 7:55 p.m., followed by a communal Break the Fast.
