Sound Off: Is Afterglow Way Worth Keeping?

These photos, courtesy of Tom O'Beirne were taken in April and May of 2014. The last two photos were taken by O'Beirne in Winter 2013-14.

Afterglow Way, a brick paved road in Montclair has become a new point of discussion.

The road appears to be crumbling and is in bad shape. Repaving the road and maintaining the brick would cost the town roughly $1 million while paving it with asphalt would cost the town a few thousand dollars.

Afterglow resident Tom O’Beirne has offered his paving company services to pave the road with asphalt for free, yet local residents are opposed to the idea, seeking to preserve the brick.
