Tour Highlights Montclair's Suburban Architecture

Two-hour bus tour is Sunday, March 16.

Montclair resident and architect Susan Nowicki will present the rich architectural history of Montclair in the late 19th and early 20th century as Montclair was transitioning from an agricultural community into the suburb it is today by visiting highlights of historic architecture around Montclair by bus.

"Montclair’s Suburban Architecture: A Magical History Tour" will kick off on Sunday, March 16, at 1 p.m.

Particularly in light of the ongoing discussion about Montclair’s Master Plan, organizers think residents from Montclair, Glen Ridge, Verona and neighboring towns will appreciate this historic perspective on how architecture defines and reflects the culture and lifestyle in our suburban communities.

Participants will enjoy the sites from comfortable buses, which will depart from the Montclair Historical Society at 108 Orange Rd.

Tickets for the 2-hour tour will cost $30 for non-members, $25 for members. Registration required. Email mail@montclairhistorical.org or 973-744-1796.
