Who Else Misses Spending Time in Edgemont Park?

It's been eerily empty at Edgemont Park during the pond project.

Edgemont Memorial Park in the center of Montclair is an ideal spot for a game of catch, a picnic, or a jog.

But many of those activities have been suspended so far this summer while work continues on Edgemont Pond, which has been drained in order to dredge and reconstruct the wall.

An update on the Friends of Edgemont Park website posted Tuesday reports, "The contouring of the bottom is 95% complete. The Eastern Wall was completed this morning."

A post from Monday reads, "The silt is being removed and the depth of the pond is being set. They should be done by the end of the week..."

The park was empty Wednesday afternoon with the exception of a digger operator and a couple of other crew members, the driver of the Montclair senior bus and a gentleman who parked on Valley Road to check out the pond project.

Do you miss spending time in the park? Where have you been going instead?
