Christina Ricci Resurrects Lizzie Borden

Former Montclair kid stars in Lifetime movie, but you won't believe how she got the lead in the Edgemont school play.

Christina Ricci is back in the headlines this week after Lifetime released a haunting image of the actress wielding a hatchet and wearing a white dress for the upcoming Lizzie Borden Took an Ax

The made-for-television movie stars Ricci as the infamous Sunday school teacher who stood trial for the bloody murder of her mother and father in the 1890s. Tune-in to see if the 33-year-old actress does the role justice on Jan. 25 at 8 p.m. EST on Lifetime.

Ricci was a typical Montclair child before she was discovered while starring in The Twelve Days of Christmas at Edgemont Elementary School.

Yeah, not really.

Consider how the daughter of a former Ford model mother and therapist who practiced scream therapy father got the part. Ricci admitted to New York Magazine in 2008 that her ambition led her to provoke her competition to hit her, causing him to lose the role as his punishment.

A local newspaper critic at the Edgemont play noticed the girl with the flair for the dramatic. She began appearing in ads and broke out in Hollywood playing Katie in Mermaids and Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family.

Ricci attended Glenfield Middle School and, briefly, Montclair High School.

Now we can't help but wonder what happened to the would-be star who didn't get the part in the Christmas play on account of Ricci's tactics? If you are reading this, drop us a line.
