The Modern Music Academy has launched its first Essex Singer Songwriter Competition—one that will benefit local charities while also handing out an array of great prizes.
The music school, which opened at 129 Grove Street in Montclair in December, is asking anyone interested to apply by June 1 for the chance to record a three-song EP with Jarrett Zellea, a two-time Grammy Award-winning producer, a prize valued at over $6,000.
Additional prizes from sponsors—as well as producing sessions, recording sessions, and music lessons—also will be awarded.

Contestants will be asked to video themselves singing an original song.
Those who will be voting on the winners will be asked to donate a dollar every time they vote for their favorite songwriter.
The money will be donated to just a few charities such as Parents Who Rock.
So what are you waiting for? Sign up today to compete for some great prizes!
