Montclair Film Fest Announces Poster Contest Winner

Here's your first look at this year's amazing design!

The Montclair Film Festival in partnership with The Montclair Art Museum named Jennifer Lange of Bloomfield the winner of their 2014 Official Poster Contest.

Ms. Lange and her husband have been active members of the community for the past 12 years. Their children attend Our Lady of the Lake school in Verona.

“I grew up going to film festivals,” said Lange, who studied digital imaging in college and runs her own graphic design business. “This contest allowed me to pursue my old love, and I had such a great time creating for the contest. When I started working on the poster my primary goal was to reflect in print the joy and good feeling living here gives me. I wanted the poster to look like our town, and to evoke positive emotion.”

“We've found that the MFF supporters really take pride in the festival each year and that's why we solicited them for this competition,” MFF Committee Chairpersons Kelly Coogan Swanson and Lisa Ingersoll said in a statement. “We were overwhelmed by the quality of the submissions and think Jennifer's vision perfectly sums up the sense of community the festival generates."

Lange’s design will be unveiled at MFF Oscar’s Eve Party on March 1.

The poster will be seen on buses, lampposts, t-shirts, the web, catalogs and, of course, the big screen, as the centerpiece of a dynamic week of more than 80 films and events that will comprise the third annual celebration of the art of filmmaking in Montclair, April 28 through May 4.
