WHY GO: Come enjoy a great musical with a talented cast. “42nd Street” focuses on the efforts of famed Great White Way director Julian Marsh to mount a successful stage production of a musical extravaganza at the height of the
Great Depression.

WHY GO: The West Essex Masquers will present their spring musical

WHAT:  
WHERE: Watchung Booksellers, 54 Fairfield St., Montclair
WHEN:   Friday, 7 p.m.
WHY GO:  This is a panel talk in the Writing Matters series. Panelists are Gioya McRae (author, librarian); Jenny Milchman (author, literacy advocate); Mercedes Santiago (editor, resource center director); Margot Sage-El (bookseller, community leader). 

WHAT:   
WHERE:  St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 219 Bloomfield Ave., Caldwell
WHEN:    Friday, 5:45 p.m.
WHY GO: Saint Aloysius Parish invites everyone to come for a supper of meatless soup with fresh bread and crackers, beverages and dessert during the season of Lent. Each Friday, prayer starts at 5:45 p.m., with soup being served at 6 p.m. Donations will be accepted to benefit Operation Rice Bowl of Catholic Relief Services. WHY GO: Drop in from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to play or to socialize
at the Community Center Annex. No registration required.

WHAT:   
WHERE:  Montclair High School, 100 Chestnut St., Montclair
WHEN:    Friday, 7 p.m.
WHY GO: The Montclair High School National Organization for Women (NOW) Club will be showing the documentary “Miss Representation” in honor of Women's History Month. The film examines how women are represented in the media and how it affects different aspects of their lives. Admission is free and food and beverages will be sold.

WHEN:    Saturday, 9:30 a.m.
WHY GO: A variety of snacks and refreshments and a take-away goodie bag for each child will be available. Children will enjoy a range of crafts and pay to play games with prizes. The Easter Bunny will be available for photo opportunities. Please bring your camera! The Easter Bunny will have a sweet treat for each visitor

WHY GO: More than two dozen women poets will gather to read poems
related to the lives of women. A reception will follow.

WHY GO: The Oratorio Society of New Jersey celebrates its 60th
anniversary performing an all-Brahms program under the music direction of Dr. Sándor Szabó, Conductor. The OSNJ choral program will include five works by Johannes Brahms: Nänie, Schicksalslied, Alto Rhapsody, Ave Maria, and Liebeslieder Waltzes, Op. 52. Brahms solo works for piano and organ will be performed by Sándor Szabó.

WHY GO:  Meet Laura Schroff (author) and Maurice Mazcyk. They will be discussing their most unlikely, awesome, and inspiring 25-year friendship. An Invisible Thread is the true story about Laura, a successful NY ad exec, who takes an 11-year-old panhandler, Maurice, to lunch—a random act of kindness which transforms both their lives and develops into a deep friendship. It's a story of love, salvation and redemption. Watchung Booksellers will be attending with books for purchase (donating a portion of book sales to NOLA youth mission). Whole Foods has donated water and snacks for sale.

WHY GO: Enjoy some of the area's best rising stars with Special Guests from Comedy Central, HBO, Network TV, XM/Sirius radio, major comedy clubs, casinos, etc.
