New Jersey Symphony Orchestra: The Planets

Jacques Lacombe leads the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra in Gustav Holst’s suite The Planets featuring the American Boychoir. The Orchestra also performs a rarely heard work by Michael Tippet, his Symphony No. 4.

Play-Day for Autism and Epilepsy

The West Essex High School Girls’ Basketball program will host the first annual “Play-Day for Autism and Epilepsy.” All proceeds will be distributed to both charities. The three games will showcase teams that have been involved in more than 10 sectional finals in the last 13 years. The schedule is as follows: 2 p.m. Hanover Park vs. Mendham; 3:30 p.m. Chatham vs. Parsippany; and 5 p.m. West Essex. vs. Summit.

During the month of January, the Caldwell Free Public Library will host the Annual Essex County Photo Club's Photography Exhibit, featuring both film and digital images. The exhibit will be available for public viewing during the library's normal operating hours. 

33rd Caldwell Youth Wrestling Tournament

33rd Annual 8th grade and under wrestling tournament. This is a split session tournament featuring Bantams (7 & 8 year olds) and midgets (9 & 10 year olds) wrestle from 9 a.m. to noon. Juniors (11 & 12 year olds) and intermediates (13 & 14 year olds) wrestle from noon to 4 p.m. 

Montclair Film Festival - KIDZ SHORTZ

The festival will feature developing films from a number of local, national and international filmmakers. The festival also aims to shine a light on other media forms as well, including podcasts and webisodes.

Georgia O'Keeffe in New Mexico

This exhibition, originated by the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, will reveal the little-known breadth of Georgia O’Keeffe’s interest in northern New Mexico and will more particularly illuminate her keen sensitivity and deep respect for the Native American and Hispano cultures of the region. From 1931 to 1945, O'Keeffe created numerous drawings, watercolors, and paintings of Kachina dolls (or Katsinam), carved representations of Hopi spirit beings.
