Weekender: Events for Everyone this Holiday Weekend

Holiday Light Spectacular is free this year!

WHERE:  St. James Episcopal Church
WHEN:    Friday   9:30am  to 3:30PM
WHY GO:  Please donate blood – People can’t live without it!

WHERE:    Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center
WHEN:      Friday, Saturday, Sunday   6pm to 8pm
WHY GO:   Pencil drawings of The New York Yankees by artist Jerry Winick from Pencilworks Studio in Little Falls will be on display from November 15th to December 30th at the Yogi Berra Museum.

WHERE:   InsaniTea, 570 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair
WHEN:   Friday  8:00pm
WHY GO:   Live jazz music every Friday!
COST:    $5 suggested donation

Turtle Back Zoo, West Orange
WHEN:     Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Experience Turtle Back Zoo in the winter as 100,000 bulbs and 40 lit displays illuminate the zoo this holiday season!
COST:   Free.   Turtle Back Zoo will be collecting non-perishable food, winter coats and unwrapped new toys for the needy each evening of holiday lights.

WHERE:  Thomas Edison National Historical Park, West Orange
WHEN:   Friday, Saturday, Sunday   10am – 4pm
WHAT:   Glenmont will be decorated much as it was while the Edison family lived there. Favorite musical pieces will be playing and greenery and red poinsettias will deck the mantles above the fireplaces. Staircases will be ringed with boughs and red ribbon bows and wreaths will hang in every window. In the Den, the majestic 10 foot tree will be lit and the presents underneath.
COST:   Admission is $7.00, and includes the Glenmont Estate and the Laboratory Complex. Children under age 16 are free.

WHERE:  Montclair Art Museum
WHEN:    Friday   10am
WHY GO:  Parents with young children will enjoy MAM Park Bench, a program that introduces children to the Museum and serves as an artistic social outing. Get acquainted with other parents and young children, work on fun art projects, and take a guided tour of the Museum. Storytelling provided in the galleries courtesy of the Montclair Public Library.
COST:  Children $6, Adults $12

WHERE:  First Presbyterian Church of Verona, 10 Fairview Ave, Verona  
WHEN:    Sunday 3pm
WHY GO: Christmas Concert including a Flute Play-Along.  Bring your flute and a music stand for the Finale Play-Along!
COST:  A free-will offering will be collected to support The Interfaith Hospitality Network

WHAT:  White Christmas
WHERE:  Paper Mill Playhouse, Millburn, NJ
WHEN:    Nov 16 – Dec 24    (showtimes: http://www.papermill.org/whats-playing/season-at-a-glance/cat/cat_id/1.html)  
WHY GO:  Based on the beloved Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye film, this merry musical tells the tale of two famous song-and-dance men who stage a show in a scenic, snow-topped Vermont inn — and end up finding love with two singing sisters under the mistletoe.
COST:   $25 to $80
