Live Nation Drops Hint About Major Wellmont Announcement

New concert bookers have been sprucing up Montclair venue since Bowery Presents bowed out in June.

Update: Pop punk band blink-182 will be the first act to play at The Wellmont Theater in Montclair since Live Nation Entertainment took over the venue earlier this year.

Wellmont Theater concert bookers' Live Nation plan to make a major announcement Tuesday at noon EST, according to a vague message posted Monday on the Montclair venue's Facebook page.

"The time has come... Tune in here tomorrow at 12PM EST!" reads the post on the page which has more than 10,000 followers.

Could the fall line-up be revealed? Will the new website be unveiled? Maybe both?

MGMT was the last act booked by Bowery Presents, which ended its run with the venue in June.

The theater has been closed all summer for renovations, which Sean Striegel, Live Nation vice president of booking for New Jersey and New York, said include an overall spruce-up and a new state-of-the-art sound and lighting system.

Earlier this month, updated logos for the Wellmont were revealed. The new look has a retro vibe, and the British spelling "theatre" has been replaced with the more American "theater."

Who do you hope to see at the Wellmont? What do you think tomorrow's announcement will be? Tell us in the comments.
