Wishing You a Green (Tea!) Holiday Season!

Happy Holidays! Now it's time to prepare for all the festivities. If you plan on doing some hosting of your own this year your to do list probably gets longer everyday. But there is one thing you must add that will impress your guests because it's easy to make but not many really know the health benefits it will offer.  When you start the dessert rounds be sure to have this as an option : Green Tea!

Studies have shown that drinking three to four cups of green tea daily may reduce the risk of developing diseases such as stomach cancer, lung cancer, and heart disease, just to name a few. Green tea contains a powerful  anti-oxidant flavonoid called epigallocatechin gallate (ECGC). ECGC is unique in that it seems to battle cancer at all stages. ECGC is 100 times more powerful as an antioxidant than vitamin C, and 25 times more powerful than vitamin E.

Here are some important reasons to drink green tea:

  • may inhibit the risk of certain cancers
  • protects the cardiovascular system
  • boosts cognitive function and concentration
  • prevents diabetes
  • prevents hypertension
  • boosts immunity
  • helps with thermogenesis and fat burning
  • reduces cholesterol
  • prevents tooth decay
  • reduces symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome
The holidays are filled with many parties and gatherings where sugary drinks and sodas are going to be available, it’s a good idea to get the family hooked on clean water and green tea early.

Cheers to you and your family for better health this holiday season!
