Adopt This Bunny: Poppy [Video/Pictures]

Looking for a fluffier alternative to a kitten or an animal that doesn't bark when someone knocks at the door? Then look no further.

Poppy is a young, adorable, fleecy Flemish giant mix rabbit that is up for adoption at the Montclair Township Animal Shelter. Grey with long, black-tipped ears, this domestic rabbit is also spayed and ready for a permanent home. 

Poppy is social, gentle, loves to get pet and play with her toys. Rabbits are typically low maintenance, and Poppy is well on her way to being litter-box trained. 

If you want to adopt Poppy but don't know how to take care of rabbits, stop by the animal shelter and the staff will walk you through it. 

The fee to adopt rabbits is $50. 

The Montclair Township Animal Shelter is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 2 and 6 p.m.; and Thursdays through Sundays between 2 and 4 p.m. Also available by appointment during nonpublic hours.

The Montclair Animal Shelter is consistently in need of supplies, donations and animal food. The shelter is currently looking for the following:  

• Empty toilet paper and paper towel cardboard rolls
• Shoe boxes
• Empty cardboard egg cartons
• Empty milk, soda and water bottles (cleaned)
• Cardboard drink holders (such as those provided at coffee shops)
• Old metal muffin or cupcake baking tins
• Metal buckets (in good condition)
• Small mirrors
• Sealed dog/cat food, treats, toys
• Rabbit food, toys
• Bleach
• Trash bags
• Paper towels
• Non-clumping kitty litter
• Laundry detergent
• Liquid hand soap and sanitizer 
• Used but cleaned linens – towels, blankets, pet beds, sheets, etc.
• Shallow cardboard trays
• Newspapers – for lining cages
