Bloomfield Ave. Restaurant Burglarized Again

Leela's Trinidad Cuisine was broken into for a second time on Jan. 13.

 

A local restaurant on Bloomfield Avenue was burglarized for a second time within a week, according to Montclair Police. 

Leela’s Trinidad Cuisine, located at 180 Bloomfield Ave., was broken into sometime between 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 13 and 3:30 p.m. the following day.

The restaurant reported to police that a laptop computer, valued at $700, and a power drill, valued at $50, were taken, according to reports. 

The restaurant is located on the ground floor of a three-story brick building which houses another business and commercial space. The restaurant is next to a parking lot of an auto repair business and the Hartley Street bus stop.

Investigation revealed the deadbolt on the rear door of the business was damaged and pried open, according to reports. 

Leela’s was also burglarized on Jan. 9, and robbed of $150 in cash and a laptop computer. The police reported that someone appeared to have picked the lock of the rear door to get in.
