Luna Stage and No. 11 Productions will partner to create a free workshop for high school students on the topic of bullying. Led by professional theater artists, participants in the two-day workshop will engage in free-writing exercises and theater games to explore the topic of bullying.
"Define "Bully" is a workshop intended to open up a dialogue about bullying within the community, artistically express various perspectives on the subject, and unpack this loaded issue," said Ryan Emmons, co-artistic director of No. 11 Productions.
In 2011, New Jersey passed the most stringent anti-bullying law in the country.
Students will work together to develop solutions to bullying while learning effective conflict resolution and developing the tools to build a greater sense of self-worth and community, according to a press release.
Space is limited in the workshop, which is funded by the Puffin Foundation.
Workshop Dates + Schedule:
Sunday, January 13th: 5pm-8pm Ensemble Building/Free-Writing Workshop; Sunday, January 20th: 11am-5:30pm workshops, 7pm presentation for invited audience.
