Murph's Is Fave Sports Shop; Fleet Feet Is Close Second

With the spring sports season in full swing, Montclair residents are seeking out supplies at all their favorite shops.

And, according to this week's Readers' Choice poll, residents have at least a few favorite stores when in need of baseballs, lacrosse equipment, soccer balls, and basketball hoops.

Topping the list is Murph's Sport Shop at 629 Valley Road in Upper Montclair. Practically an institution, the store offers everything a sports enthusiast could possibly want for any kind of sport, everything from soccer to hockey to football gear and equipment. The staff here is notoriously helpful and there is a wide range of sports shoes for sale as well.

Coming in a close second was at 603 Bloomfield Avenue. Fleet Feet touts a "fitlosophy" that everyone deserves to wear shoes and clothing that will allow them to be comfortable and injury-free while exercising. The store has been in business for more than 22 years and is spacious and well-stocked.

In third place was Montclair Soccer at 127 Watchung Avenue. Another store that's been around a long while, Montclair Soccer is the go-to spot for soccer-related sports equipment with brand names such as Nike, Adidas, Puma, KwikGoal, and Kappa.
