PATH Service To Midtown Manhattan Suspended For Next Two Weekends
The Port Authority says it will speed up repairs to the Hoboken PATH station.
The Port Authority will suspended PATH service to midtown Manhattan for the next two weekends, according to a news release from the city of Hoboken.
PATH service between Newark and 33rd street will stop running after 10 p.m. on Friday and will resume at 5 a.m. on Monday.

The Newark to World Trade Center line will continue to run between New Jersey and New York from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8 and 9, and next Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 15 and 16.
PATH's Acting Director Stephen Kingsberry said it's a temporary inconvenience that will speed up restoration of full, 24-hour PATH service across the system.

The Porth Authority has been shutting down PATH service to 33rd Street between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. each day. Kingsberry said allowing for 48 hours of work at a time will speed up the extensive repairs.
The agency estimates damage from Hurricane Sandy caused some $300 million in damage.
Mayor Dawn Zimmer thanked the Port Authority for making this decision.
"A higher percentage of Hoboken residents - 56 percent - rely on mass transit for commuting than any other city in the country, so loss of the PATH has had a disproportionate impact on our community," Zimmer said in a statement.
Weekend PATH riders can use the MTA subway lines near the World Trade Center for uptown travel, including the 1, 2, 3, A, C, E and R lines. Ferries and NJ Transit bus service will also be available.
