Collagraphs are prints created from a collage of simple materials. The built-up plate of textures can be made of endless materials that are easily found and offer endless possibilities. Students will learn how to construct a simple plate consisting of layers tape, glue, sandpaper, and paper in this one-day workshop. Students will experiment inking plates in both intaglio and relief methods. 100% rag papers and a Charles Brand etching press will be used. An excellent workshop for artists curious about printmaking. Visit montclairartmuseum.org for a list of supplies. Register online at montclairartmuseum.org or call 973-259-5139. Advance registration required
