Silkscreen printing, in the simplest of terms, is a stencil affixed to a mesh fabric that is stretched tightly over a frame, this frame laid over a printing surface and ink spread across the screen with a squeegee, which forces the ink through the screen in parts that are not covered by the stencil and the design is printed on the intended surface. Two methods will be instructed: hand-cut paper stencils and the drawing fluid/screen filler stencil process. Each method will result in the printing of an edition and/or printing on fabric, such as t-shirts or other articles of apparel. Visit montclairartmuseum.org for a list of supplies. Register online at montclairartmuseum.org or call 973-259-5139. Advance registration required
