Beer Bowl Huddle @ Montclair Public Library

Two prominent sportswriters and a Montclair coach will discuss the issues facing football at a beer tasting reception on January 26 at the Montclair Public Library.

The event, held to celebrate the Super Bowl coming to NJ, kicks off at 6 p.m. in the library’s auditorium. Aptly dubbed the Beer Bowl Huddle, it will include craft and artisanal beers provided by Amanti Vino, and food catered by Belgiovine’s Italian Deli.

Confirmed panelists include Harvey Araton, columnist and reporter for The New York Times; John Fiore, head football coach at Montclair High School; and Conor Orr, Giants beat writer for the Newark Star-Ledger. They will address a wide range of topics, including the business of football, increasing concerns about the health of players, and the role that bullying plays in the locker room.

After the moderated discussion, those in attendance will be able to ask their own questions and share their thoughts about what football has been and what it is becoming. The evening will include a 50/50 football box pool, as well.

Tickets are $75 and can be purchased by calling 973-744-0500 ext. 2222 or by visiting www.montclairplf.org. For more information about the library and to view its calendar, visit http://www.montclairpubliclibrary.org/.
