Dialogue and Q&A: Passaic River Focus Feasibility Study

Open Dialogue and Q & A:  Lower 8 Miles Passaic River
Focus Feasibility Study

Monday, June 2, 2014 - 8am to noon - Montclair State University
- University Hall / Room 1010

Learn about the EPA's massive proposed plan for cleaning up the
lower 8.3 miles of the Lower Passaic River.   The plan includes dredging approximately 4.3 million cubic yards of sediment bank-to-bank - enough to fill Metlife stadium twice - and to cap the
dredged area with sand and a layer of armoring stone.  This plan
also proposes  a navigable channel in the 2.2 miles of the river

closest to Newark Bay.  If approved, this would be one of the
largest volumes ever to be dredged under the EPA Superfund program
with at least 100 companies potentially liable under the federal
Superfund law.

Elected officials, U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency and N.J. Department of Environmental Protection attending.

Free event. Refreshments served.  Free parking at University's
Red Hawk Parking Deck Level 5.  For info:  973-655-7648
