Essex County Clergy Push for Gun Control

The Essex County branch of New Jersey Together, a congregation-based action group, will host a forum at Bnai Keshet on Thursday, January 31, 7:00 to 9:00 pm., to find ways to advance gun control legislation in Washington.  Speakers will discuss how guns have impacted their lives and share personal stories. Organizers will discuss future meetings with Reps. Donald Payne Jr. and Rodney Frelinghuysen, as well as Newark Mayor Corey Booker and Newark’s top Public Defender for their input on using the purchasing power of municipal and state police departments to leverage better behavior from gun makers. The  agenda also will include developing strategies to expand the group's reach to include gun owners.  The meeting is open to the public. For more information, contact Bnai Keshet's Office at 973-746-4889.
